2 x Weekend CYA Day Skipper Course

| This course will appeal to those wishing to acquire their sailing skills early in the year, at a considerably reduced cost, and who don’t wish to give up a work week in doing so. Starting at 8.30 a.m on Saturday morning of March 25th you will spend 4 days of sailing in Vancouver’s English Bay finishing at 4.30 p.m. each day. You will learn how to safely sail and skipper a sailing sloop to meet the requirements of the Canadian Yachting Association’s Basic Cruising Standard. No previous experience is required to participate. You will receive in advance the 200 page CYA official manual for the course which should be studied prior to the first day. You will sail aboard our Ohlson 38 sailing sloop “Agua Verde”, which offers considerable creature comforts to combat any possible early season chilly weather. Your instructor is an experienced coastal and offshore sailor, able to advise you on all aspects of sailing, boat ownership, bareboat chartering, local cruising and long distance voyaging. Depending on crew interest we offer an option to overnight in Snug Cove on Bowen Island on the second weekend. Cost is very reasonably priced at $649.00 per person plus GST, and includes all training materials, exam, and CYA logbook. Space is limited, so call now if you’re interested.
